Hello MCS families!
I'm looking forward to a fantastic year of teaching your child to enjoy, appreciate, and create art. Efforts will be made to correlate art lessons with not only Idaho art standards, but also our own unique STEAM school environment as well. We’ll be looking at and talking about major works/styles of art, as well as various artists and cultures from around the world. We'll also be creating our own masterpieces using the elements and principles of design.
The only supply your child needs is a pencil, however we are also currently in need of several things like electric pencil sharpeners, colored pencils, bulk Elmer's glue, good quality paper, and tempera paint. If you have something that you think we might be able to use, shoot me an email!
If you yourself would like to volunteer to help hang up/take down student work please let me know, or perhaps you have a special talent you'd like to share (i.e., sewing, woodworking, painting, something crafty)? Guest speakers are always welcome, and can be a great source of inspiration for our artists.
And finally, in order to provide the best possible learning environment we'll be developing our guidelines for behavior on the first day of class. This plan will give every student the opportunity to manage his or her own behavior and will be in effect at all times. The guidelines are pretty straight forward, please review them with your child at home. They spell out ARTIST!
