About Ms. Jones

 

Hello!

 

My name's Jess (or Ms. Jones) and I'm so honored to be going into my 10th year teaching Elementary Art here at Moscow Charter School! I graduated with degrees in Art Education and Studio Art from the University of Idaho back in 2014, and I hail from the wicked tiny state of Rhode Island. I currently live here in Moscow with my partner Dave, 3 amazing kids, and our goofy little parrot named Moonie.

 

I'm an artist, illustrator, and local STEAM educator. I work at the WSU Planetarium and am an active member of our local Moscow/Pullman astronomy club: The Palouse Astronomical Society. I also sometimes run a middle school rocketry club in the spring called MARS: Moscow Charter Amateur Rocketry Society.

 

As far as my own art goes, I dabble in lots of different media like photography (especially astrophotography), painting, theater arts, ceramics, crochet, tie dying, sewing, and even building high-powered rockets. I hope to combine my love for both art and science into fun STEAM filled lessons throughout the school year.
