The Parent Action Team (PAT) at Moscow Charter School is dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of our children by fostering a supportive community of involved parents. Through volunteerism and fundraising efforts, we strive to empower our school to meet the evolving needs of students and educators alike.

The PAT is a dynamic group of parents committed to enriching the educational journey of our children. By volunteering with us, you play a pivotal role in shaping the vibrant culture of Moscow Charter School. Whether you can spare an hour or devote your time planning and executing events, every contribution counts!

We would LOVE to get some more volunteers to help with a variety of events, you can choose what, when and how much you would like to help out. We appreciate any help we can get.

The PAT plans fun events like the Back-to-School Ice Cream Social, Teacher Appreciation Week and brunches during parent-teacher conferences and awesome fundraisers like our annual Bingo Night and Fun Run!! The funds raised are used to help fund special projects for Moscow Charter School, and to help meet the needs of our teachers and students and ensure they have all the tools they need for a successful year!!

WAYS YOU CAN GET INVOLVED!!!

PAT Meetings (All year long, we try to meet once a month):

Secretary (take notes during meetings, post notes on our Facebook group)
People to help come up with ideas and plan upcoming events
Approve requests from the school or teachers

Bingo Night (March/ Spring Event):

Ask for donations and pick them up if needed -
Write donation letters, thank you letters, and donation receipts
Make info/bid sheet for auction items
Make a list of bingo prizes
Make signs/posters
Advertise for the event (Tristate billboard, Facebook, MCS webpage, newspapers, etc.)
Buy items for the event (decoration, etc.)
Make gift baskets/cards
Set up for the event
Run the event (banker, collect money, hand out prizes, help with silent/live auction) - see signup
Clean up

Teacher Appreciation Brunches (in connection with Parent-Teacher conferences):

Make signups for brunch
Get people to sign up
Set up table
Decorate
Clean up afterward

Teacher Appreciation Week (May):

Come with ideas
Ask for donations (gift cards, gift items, lunch)
Make gifts
Set up gifts in the morning
Set up for lunch
Clean up after lunch

Fun Run (May):

Plan the event
Set up
Run games/activities
Help with decoration
Help with tallying laps
Handing out snacks
Help with prizes

Back-to-school event (August):

Plan event
Purchase items needed
Set up for the event

HOW THE FUNDS RAISED HAVE BEEN SPENT.........................................................

The PAT funds many different types of projects. We have raised money for items for the school such as the basketball court, updated landscaping, the walking path (with the help of an Eagle Scout), playground equipment, lockers for the new building, and a new school sign (coming soon)!!

We also raise money to help fund smaller events and projects to ensure the needs of our teachers and students are being met. Below are a few of the items the funds we have raised have been used to purchase:

Height adjustable science tables for the new science room
School desks for 5th grade
Additional furniture and desks for middle school teachers
