Middle School Art

Welcome to Middle School Art!

This year, students have the exciting opportunity to take two semesters of art.

During the first semester, we will focus on 2D art, using materials such as pencil, charcoal, paint, and pastel to create dynamic and expressive artwork. Students will explore techniques, develop skills, and experiment with different styles and approaches.

The second semester will shift to 3D art, where students will work with materials and techniques including book folding, clay, paper quilling, and papier-mâché to create three-dimensional pieces.

Throughout the year, students will also spend time each week on art criticism. This will introduce them to famous works of art and help them learn how to observe, analyze, and discuss artwork by identifying the elements and principles of design.
