I am very excited to teach social studies! I plan to implement a variety of activities to help students study and engage in history, geography, civics, and government. This will be accomplished through use of interactive notebooks, lecture with guided notes, projects, readings, and unit assessments.
This week 6th grade students (and Mrs. Ivers) were able to see some of the ancient Egyptian monuments in 3D. It's as though we were really there! Amazing!
6th grade students created their own cave art using oil pastels, and black paint. They were asked to scratch off the paint to show an image of something that is special or significant to them. This is reminiscent of the cave paintings of early civilizations, and a fun project!
