School Closure

Dear MCS Families,

School is cancelled Friday, November 10th for Moscow Charter School and Moscow School District, due to the natural gas outage in our region. As a reminder we follow MSD procedures for closures since we are contracted with them for food and transportation services. Please see the message below from Superintendent of Moscow School District, Shawn Tiegs:

After consulting throughout the day with Avista, we have determined that there is no chance for the natural gas service to be restored to schools for normal operations tomorrow, Friday, November 10th. Due to the logistical challenges of food service and the inability to ensure that students will have a warm learning environment.

We will continue to communicate with Avista on an ongoing basis but ask that you continue to plan that this disruption may last multiple days.

I will continue to work with Superintendent Tiegs to provide you the most up to date information and I appreciate your patience and understanding at this time.  We know this could be a hardship on members in our school community.  Please feel free to reach out to me if your family is struggling in these challenging times.

In addition, tomorrow would have been a day for recognition of our Veterans at our school. This is a good opportunity for students to thank a Veteran in our community or their family for their service.  Veterans Day is this Saturday.

Sincerely,

Tony Bonuccelli
