About Ms. Cartwright
I've been a part of the MCS community since 2020 and have recently joined the teaching staff as the fifth grade teacher. I was a co-teacher with Ms. Bonzo in 4th grade and substitute taught for each elementary class over the past year. I'm excited to continue getting to know the students and families. To help you all get to know me a little better, here are some things about me!
I grew up in Genesee, then graduated from University of Idaho where I was a member of Delta Delta Delta. I consider Moscow my home and appreciate the tight knit community of the town. In my time as a Moscow resident, I have worked with young children in a daycare environment and with elementary and middle school children at the Eggan Youth Center.  A fun fact about me is that I love plants and animals of all kinds, and have a large collection of houseplants that continues to grow.
My teaching style centers around collaboration and exploration. In 5th grade, students will work cooperatively in the classroom, but also be challenged to take learning into their own hands and embrace their curiosities. I encourage students to pursue topics that interest them and cultivate their creative thinking. It's important that students receive this kind of encouragement at home, too.
If you have questions about how you can support your student's education at home, please don't hesitate to email me or stop by my classroom for a quick visit! I'd love to hear from you.
Let's grow together!

This is our class tree! 5th Graders earn a leaf for great classroom behavior or tokens earned from other staff members. Their tree has already grown by more than 15 leaves since the beginning of the year!
