Greetings MCS Families!!!
Greetings on this last Friday Letter of the school year! I would like to start this letter off by talking about a couple changes for the upcoming school year. If you recall I had mentioned that the Moscow School District is changing their Friday release time to 2:15 pm every Friday for the 2014-2015 school year. MCS will also be following this schedule, since we are required by our Charter. Please contact me for any other info you may need at email@example.com.
It is also with regret that the Moscow Charter School Administration and Board of Directors have decided to suspend Spanish for the 2014-2015 school year. It was very apparent during our testing of the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium that more time was needed to train the students and improve their skills in using the technology required by the SBAC. We must now redirect our efforts and use all additional time and resources to focus on technology. We are continuing to look for extra curricular alternatives to help supplement this change. On behalf of the Moscow Charter School, I would like to thank Senora Asseffi for her years of service here at MCS.
A few exciting things to look forward to for the 2014-2015 school year is our new theme “Moscow Charter School Goes Classic.” This was decided at our teacher meeting last Friday and I can’t wait to see what the teachers and students come up with for next year. Today, I also met with our project manager and excavation contractor for the middle school expansion. We will be starting construction the day after school lets out for summer. Look for great things to come over the following months.
I would like to end this letter in thanking the students, staff, and parents for being so supportive in my first year as principal. I am very lucky to work for such a great school. Have a safe and relaxing summer!
Principal, Moscow Charter School
