Greetings MCS Families!!!
We ended a great week with a fabulous Friday Morning Meeting. It started off with our middle school students doing a hip hop dance they learned from the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival dance workshop. Then we were treated to science experiments provided by students from the University of Idaho Chemistry Department. These experiments consisted of elephant toothpaste, balloon levitation, smoke cannons, and flying ping pong balls. If you would like to know more about these, I strongly encourage you to ask your child. I bet you will get some very entertaining answers. (see videos here)
This Saturday is full of events that our MCS students are participating in. Angus in fourth grade will be participating in the Invent Idaho State competition at 1pm in the Sub Ballroom. Eliza in 6th grade will be participating in the Scripts Spelling Bee in Lewiston at 1pm. Finally, our Marimba Club will be performing at the 1912 Building tomorrow night at 7pm. It is great to see our students do great things to represent MCS.
I would like to announce that we will be having a middle school Open House on March 26th from 5pm to 6:30pm. This will give parents and students the opportunity to speak with teachers and myself with the changes to come next year. I also encourage any parents that may know of any students that may be interested in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade at MCS to attend.
One last thing I would like to address before we head into our last week of school before Spring Break is about our SBAC testing. I mentioned last week that students will be taking the test April 1st through May 15th. The students that will be taking the SBAC are in 3rd through 7th grades. If you have any more questions please let me know.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!
