Moscow Charter School

MCS Current News

Dear Moscow Charter School Families

5/25/2012 - From Dr. Axman

This Friday marks the last full week of school. Yes, we only have seven more school days before we start summer vacation. As you know, these last few days are a very busy time. So, please make note of the many end of the year activities that are planned.

Next Tuesday, our Morning Meeting will be focused on the public library’s summer reading program. This will be our last all school morning meeting of the year and we will take the opportunity to say goodbye to our sixth graders.

Be sure to get your yearbook order in on Tuesday. The cost of the yearbook is $12.00. So, please include cash or a check with your order.

Monday, June 4th is the “Schools to Pools” day for MCS. Weather permitting, we will have an opportunity to use the HIRC pool from 10am to 12pm. Students will be responsible for bringing swim suits, towels, sun screen and warm clothing to wear after swimming.  We are encouraging children to bring a snack since lunch will not be served until we return to the building at 12:15pm. In addition, sixth grade graduation will be he held at the 1912 center at 6:00pm in the evening.

Tuesday, June 5th we will be having regular classes. However, at six o’clock in the evening we will be holding Kindergarten Graduation. Next year’s kindergarteners have been invited to attend and join in the covered dish party that will follow the graduation. The School Board will also be holding a special meeting at 7pm on the evening of the fifth to discuss next year’s budget proposals. Any interested parents are welcome to attend.

Wednesday June 6th marks the last day of school. After morning recess, students will have the opportunity to “Move Up” to their new class and visit with next year’s teacher. During this time, the sixth grade will have time to pass around yearbooks and have a goodbye party with the principal. Report cards will be sent home in a large brown envelope along with a calendar for next year and ISAT scores for upper grade level students. Please post the calendar in an important place because there are many changes for next year including a week off at Thanksgiving.

I hope you have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day.

Sincerely,

Marie Axman Ed.D.
