Dear Moscow Charter School Families,
Time is flying by and we are already into December. Winter break will be here before we know it and with the way it is snowing lately we may have more days off than we planned. I appreciate all of the parents who are sending their children to school with snow pants and boots. Wearing water resistant outer clothing allows the students to play in the snow without worrying about wet clothing in class. The children have a wonderful time at recess taking advantage of the 20 minutes of snow play. Believe it or not we are still doing the Mileage Club and students are tromping around the track to make their goals so again boots are really important. We also walk over to the HIRC for PE. It is a snowy wind blown route and the walk itself is part of the exercise. If you have an outgrown pair of boots you would like to donate please bring them to the school and we will pass them on to students who need them.
You may have received an on-line survey from the MCS Futures Committee asking about what your preferences would be if the Moscow Unified School District (MUSD) moved 6th grade to the Junior High School. This MCS Survey was a response to the MUSD considering moving all of the district 6th grades to Moscow Junior High and moving the 9th grade to the Senior High. The superintendant has appointed a committee to examine the feasibility of this transition taking place next year, it is expected to deliver its report to the MUSD Board of Trustees on Tuesday, December 14th at 7pm in the Junior High Band Room. Parents who want to learn more about this proposal may be interested in attending this meeting. Because of the meeting, our own Board of Directors will not meet that night as planned, but rather on Thursday, December 16th at 7pm here at MCS.
