Dear Moscow Charter Families,
10/21/2010 - From Dr. Axman
Please get your calendars out because this letter will contain many important dates.
October 25th the first grade will be hosting the Morning Meeting. I am sure Mr. Cole has something musical and original planned. Along with the first grade presentation, Oct. 25th is our student voting day. Voter registration slips are coming home please fill them out so that your student can participate in this voting activity.
Friday, Oct. 29th the students at MCS are going on an all school field trip to Washington State University Museums. Students will need to bring a sack lunch that day unless they preordered a lunch from the Cafeteria. We selected this day as a special “treat.” Students need to bring in one dollar in order to get a scoop of ice-cream at Ferdinand’s. This field trip was fully paid for as result of a grant and the ice cream is the only item that students have to pay for.
Sat., Oct 30th is the long awaited Kids ONLY Halloween Fun Run. Check-In is from 8:30am to 9:30am and the race will start at 10am. I am looking forward to seeing lots of our MCS families there.
Nov. 4th -5th you will need to schedule a time for Parent Teacher Conferences. Remember that there is no school on those days. Teachers will be contacting you regarding your appointment time for individual conferences.
We need to recognize the Moscow Charter School Teachers and Family members and University of Idaho students, who came last Saturday to help out for Make a Difference Day. So many important projects were completed that helped to maintain the building, playground equipment, and the landscaping. Matt Renzelman Catt, Helen &Curt Braun with Hope and Grace Braun. Lisa& Luke Isaac with Baxter and Harmon.; Elizabeth Carney, Mae Sowards, Sabrina Knock, Catrin Spilde and Mike Kauffman; Adam Ridel; Abel Kelly; Lianne Wappett with Meridian, Isabelle and Elias; Aaron Johnson with Maddie, Corey, Chloe; Lashelle Wilson with Tristan and Cadence. Teachers that were here included Dr. Axman, Ms. Kintner, Mrs. Horne and her son Connor and our AmeriCorp volunteer Betsy Byers. These busy workers saved the school lots of money that would have been spent on maintenance these repairs. University Students Kale Henderson, Mindy Epler, Katrine Stephens, Sara Elizalde and LaRae Lichti were also here to help. The sharing of their time and talents is greatly appreciated.
Have a great weekend,
Marie Axman EdD
