Worm Factory

Worm Factory

Mrs. Horne's 4th Grade class launched a worm factory on October 13th. The students learned about how useful red wigglers can be in composting food (greens) and paper (browns). The worms are settled into their new home in the multipurpose room and have thrived amidst the hustle and bustle of school. The 4th grade will continue with their class science project by gathering recycled paper and appropriate food scraps to feed to the worms. Our goal is to multiply our worms and generate compost that can be used in our school garden and plants around the school. We will also study the amazing abilities worms have and how important they are to our ecosystem.
